Online Training for Therapists

This 7 week Online course (2hrs per week) is for practitioners who work with clients who may have a diagnosis or suspected experience of Complex PTSD, and perhaps may appear to be struggling to put their cognitive understanding into embodied and conscious change. 

The course will provide  principles to help make sense of your clients' struggles, survival strategies and strengths. We will consider your resonances that might help or hinder your capacity to provide a connected and attuned space. We'll integrate your insights and practices, to help you explain your intentions to your clients so that they can fully consent and be part of holding a compassionate and curious relationship with their struggles, and embrace an experimental approach. 

The course will bring perspectives from a NARM approach, Parts Theory, Poly vagal / nervous systemic understanding, Non-violent Communication, Transactional Analysis... to name but a few helpful frameworks to make sense of and organise complex interactions between inner and external relationships. 

The 7 sessions will take the format of different themes per session, some discussion, some experiential experiments individually and within break-out rooms; and discussion / integration. Reflection on insights gained in practice or personally, within the week leading up to each session. 

Themes we will cover: 

Developmental stages, the capacity for processing past and present experience

Survival styles, the body remembers

Creative approaches to engaging with our different 'Parts' 

Over-Identification and under-identification (rescuing and avoiding, and burning out)

Conflict, coercion, control

Deep, dark shame

Rupture and repair

Play and dark medicine
